The Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra (MACJO) is the premier performing and networking honor group for select collegiate jazz musicians in the Mid-Atlantic region. The MACJO was founded in 2009 as an initiative of the Cumberland Jazz Society. Effective August of 2016, MACJO became a division of the Jazz Academy of Music.
MACJO has performed at such notable venues as Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, The Kennedy Center, St. Peters Church (NYC), Jazz Education Network (JEN) Conference in New Orleans, in addition to their annual April performance in Cumberland, MD. This year marks the group’s debut performance on the Ronnie Wells Main Stage at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival in Rockville, MD.
