Bio

A native and resident of Southern New Jersey, Kelsi Bolden currently attends Camden Creative Arts High School where she is learning advanced music theory, transcription and composition skills.

Starting on the xylophone at the age of 12, Kelsi transitioned to the vibes at 13. Her exceptional talent, however, went unnoticed until she enrolled at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz. Within two years of attending the Clef Club, and at the age of 15, Berklee College of Music awarded Kelsi a full scholarship to their five-week summer program in Boston, Massachusetts.

Kelsi’s next stop was the Jazz House Kids Summer Program, where she reconnected with friends from Berklee’s Five Week. It was also there, where she shared the stage with Paquito D?Rivera, playing at the Montclair Jazz Festival and the famous Dizzy Cola Club.

Currently touring with the Camden Creative Arts Jazz Collective,  Kelsi has met esteemed artists such as Christian McBride, Khan Jamal, Arnetta Johnson, Tia Fuller and Mark Whitfield; and counts them all as inspirations.

Passionate about sharing the joy of music and the wonderful opportunities playing presents, Kelsi is always mentoring and helping new musicians and junior vibe players.

Looking toward the future, Kelsi is planning to tour internationally, record professionally and conduct music clinics for teens.
