Bio

The brainchild of director and pianist Wayne Wilentz, Cloudburst brings the witty and distinctive jazz vocal arrangements of the great Lambert, Hendricks and Ross to contemporary live audiences.  Cloudburst features the tight harmonies and fast-paced vocalese of singers Jerry Overman, James Zimmerman and Stephanie Lebow.  Performances include the DC Jazz Festival at the Phillips Collection, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, the Takoma Park JazzFest, and Live at Wilson Plaza.

 Wayne Wilentz has appeared with the Coasters, Martha and the Vandellas, The Shirelles, Jimmy Witherspoon, Rebecca Parris and Claudio Roditi.  Locally, he has played with just about every big name in the DC jazz scene.

 Stephanie Lebow’s performances include Twins Jazz Lounge, the East Coast Jazz Festival, The Blair Mansion Inn and Monday Night Jazz at Vicino’s.

 Jerry Overman has performed at a variety of DC venues including Twins Jazz Lounge, Jazz at Sabang, The Blair Mansion Inn and the East Coast Jazz Festival.

 James Zimmerman has opened for such artists as Stanley Turrentine, McCoy Tyner and Jimmy Smith, and has performed in concert with Doug Carn and with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra. James was a finalist in the 2008 Cab Calloway Vocal Jazz Competition in Baltimore, MD.
