NEW!!!–The Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival begins on Thursday this year, with a pre-festival fundraising event. The MAJF Mardi Gras’ Gala, featuring Delfeayo Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra. The opening act for the event is our very own, award winning, Jazz Academy Orchestra. Tickets on sale now.
October 4, 2016– Vendors may now reserve their stations for the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival. Click on the “Info” menu item and then “Be A Vendor”. Stations move fast, sign up early.
February 2, 2017– The Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival Executive and Artistic Director, Paul Carr, announces the 2017 Discovery Stage Artists, Amp Trio, Kelsi Bolden and Kristina Koller. You can see these wonderful Artists each night of the MAJF at 8pm and 10pm with only a $5 Grounds pass. We guarantee after hearing these Artist you will be a fan! Come and “Discover” some new sounds.

2017 Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival Celebrates the Second Line with Etienne Charles

Continuing our second line theme on Saturday night will be Etienne Charles and Creole Soul. Experience the New Orleans sound with this fantastic group. And, to warm you up for the festive celebration of the New Orleans Jazz heritage, we have the soulful voice of Kathy Kosins and our annual summit. This year, we are showcasing the Guitar. We have some of the best jazz guitarists in the world going head to head, Paul Bollenbeck, Bobby Broom and Russell Malone. You do not want to miss this. Band Competition

The MAJF High School Jazz Band and Combo Competition will include 12 high school jazz bands that are from schools located in the Mid-Atlantic states, including North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, D.C., West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.
