A “Beautiful Life” in honor of Anna Marquez-Greene …

Making his Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival debut on our Ronnie Wells Main Stage, Sunday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m., is saxophonist Jimmy Greene, whose performance will boast one of the great pianists of our time, NEA Jazz Master Kenny Barron.  Thematically this performance will certainly be a transcendent MAJF highlight.  Jimmy Greene’s music for his MAJF performance will largely stem from his latest album, the deeply heartfelt Beautiful Life on Mack Avenue Records.  That loving recording is part of Jimmy’s ongoing grieving process at the sudden and tragic loss of his 6-year old daughter, Ana Marquez-Greene, who fell victim to the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass murder in Newtown, CT.
